The Vodacom Durban July will take place at the Greyville Racecourse on Saturday the 6th of July 2013. Over 55 000 people are expected to attend the event this year, with an estimated amount of 200 million Rand to be placed on bets for the horse races taking place on the day. Guests can enjoy the atmosphere of the races from private marquees or any of the casual restaurants situated at the racecourse. There will also be fashion shows and competitions for all to enjoy.

Spend a day at the races in Durban with a flight from Cape Town offered at R1 637 with Mango, who offered the cheapest flights when we checked (prices will change). Shosholoza Meyl's train fares have increased since the last survey done on this route, with a one way economy class fare now offered at R500 per person (prices could change). This fare matched the bus fare we found from Citiliner on this route. If you are looking to rent a car while you spend some time in Durban, be sure to book with Car Trawler, who offered the best rates for rental from King Shaka Airport.

Car Trawler cheapest car hire in Durban
This week we compared the rates of car hire at King Shaka Airport from 21h00 on Friday the 5th of July 2013 until 13h00 on Sunday the 7th of July 2013. Car Trawler displayed the cheapest rates for the weekend's rental with a Kia Picanto or similar at R340 (R170 per day). (Prices can change).
