R480 Johannesburg to Cape Town Bus

Mango cheapest CPT - Durban

South Africa Travel Online

We need Velvet Sky to help bring down prices on the CPT - Durban flight route (like they've done on the JNB-CPT & JNB-DUR routes). This week we took a look at flight and bus prices from Cape Town to Durban and Mango was offering the cheapest flight (and cheaper than the Intercape!). A pity that Shosholoza Meyl is still short on locomotives and therefore can't run the Cape Town to Durban route. You could book a night at the Beach Hotel in Durban from R340, and First Car Rental was just R164/day. All prices may have changed, even by the time you read this. Translux are the cheapest we've surveyed them on the Cape Town Durban route since 29 March 2008!

Durban International Film Festival

The best time to travel is when the crowds melt away after the school holidays! If you're going to be in Durban over the weekend of the 22nd of July, you might want to check out South Africa’s highly regarded and longest-running film festival. The Durban International Film Festival will be screening over 250 current films from around the world. The screenings will happen all over Durban, including some townships and will also be hosting seminars and workshops for the public. The festival will be running for 32 years this July, and the focus will be on South African and African cinema. It will be taking place from the 21st of July to 31 July 2011 - the full screening schedule is available for download on the festival's website.

Ask our lovely travel consultant your questions here. She would love to assist.
