In response to market demand, Air Namibia begins direct flights from Johannesburg to Walvis Bay, 6 days a week (the exception is Saturday), using newly-acquired Embraer ERJ135s : "The additional route capacity is a direct result of our market research which showed significant increasing for regional travel (sic) between Namibia and neighbouring South Africa" said Air Namibia. |

Michael, from Northampton (UK), went bird watching in Walvis Bay; and spotted Lesser Flamingos, the African Black Oystercatcher, a Black-winged Stilt, Cape Cormorant, Cape Shoveller, Chestnut-banded Plover, Common Ringed Plover, Common Terns, Curlew Sandpipers, Marsh Sandpiper, Red-necked Phalarope, the Cape Sparrow, Crested Cormorants, Greater Flamingo, the Grey Plover, Hartlaub's Gull, Kelp Gull, Pied Avocet and the Ruff.
