It's only Lufthansa which offers direct flights from Johannesburg to Frankfurt, but do also check the South African Airways website, as they sell Lufthansa's flight on codeshare, and are sometimes cheaper! If you're flying with Lufthansa expect typical German precision, quality and punctuality.

23 June 2017. Lufthansa announced today that they are cancelling over 50 flights into and from Frankfurt as a thunderstorm approaches. It is still unclear whether flights from Cape Town and Johannesburg has been affected, but the airline has cautioned that severe delays could be expected. SAA has not yet updated the status of their Frankfurt flights, but we expect delays frm them as well.
