Zambezi Airlines was an airline offering flights from and within Zambia. Its planes were maintained at the airline's maintenance facilities in Lusaka, and by South African company, Jetworx (who were also responsible for certification).

Robinson Misitala, the National Airports Corporation's MD, confirms that Zambezi Airlines has again halted its operations: "Yes they have suspended their operations for the time being. They have not officially communicated to us but they stopped flying a month ago."

Three Zambezi Airlines planes are repossessed by GECAS (General Electric Commercial Aviation Services) for failing to pay rentals amounting to over $2m. The 2 planes which weren't already there, have been flown from Kenneth Kaunda Airport to O.R. Tambo International Airport. The planes are registered  9J-AJB Spirit of Mosi-o-Tunya, 9J-AJC Spirit of Limpopo and 9J-AJA Spirit of Kafue.

Zambezi Airlines flies its inaugural flight from Livingstone to Cape Town. It will operate a three times a week direct service on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from Livingstone, Zambia,

“Recently, Turkish Airlines and Emirates Airline increased their number of flights and Air France also announced its non-stop flight between Cape Town International and Paris, Charles de Gaulle with three flights a week. Now Zambezi Airlines will also be flying three times a week. This is all positive news for the airport and Cape Town and certainly a testament to what we have to offer as a region in tourism and business.” Said Cape Town International Airport's Communications Manager, Deidre Hendricks.
