Kulula in flight magazine | Comic Life

31 May 2008. Kulula have an in-flight magazine called "comic life". The magazine starts off with taking a (well deserved) dig at state-owned enterprises, celebrating the fact that the state-owned carriers (SAA & Mango Airlines) now only have 40% of the South African market compared to 100% a decade or two ago...but bemoaning the fact that the privitisation drive has slowed down - "private businesses have no choice but to perform because if they don't, it's game over". Kulula interviewed one of their catering staff, who described her job as being an "on-board baggage negotiator, marriage counsellor, nappy changer, travel consultant, babysitter, entertainer and psychologist". It involves waking up at 5am and sometimes ending around midnight. Sounds like you've got to be a jack of all trades and be able to tolerate a shifting sleeping pattern, to cope with life as an air steward.

Not sure what's in it for a southern-african only airline to be writing about the UK but they did:

Internet property rentals

There's an interesting article on internet property rentals - renting out your property via the internet. This seems attractive, as using a letting agent costs around 4.5% of the monthly rentals. Possible sites to use are the gumtree, private property or rentaspot. Rentasport provides you with access to credit checks and allows you to download a lease agreement.
