Ask a travel agent - we're itching to find you the best British Airways flight deals |
There are both British Airways PLC and British Airways Comair flights in South Africa. There are 3 ways of checking in for a British Airways South Africa flight : (1) online check in, (2) cellphone check in, (3) the old fashioned way at a BA airport kiosk.
You can check in online within 24 hours of your flight leaving. Simply navigate to the BA online check-in page, and type your booking reference (a series of 6 numbers/letters - note that the numbers zero and one are never used, to prevent confusion with the letters o and l) and your last name in.
British Airways has apps which allows check-in on iPhones, Blackberrys, Androids or Windows Phones. You can download a cellphone boarding pass. Within 24 hours of your flight you can select "get a boarding pass/check-in", then when you pass the boarding gate you flash your cellphone with the boarding pass display to the attendants...by far the coolest way of checking in! Cellphone check in is available for:
flights from Cape Town
flights from Durban King Shaka
flights from Johannesburg OR Tambo
flights from Port Elizabeth
This is the good old fashioned way of checking in - simply show up at the British Airways check in desk at the airport, and get your boarding pass there.
Whilst British Airways carries the UK's flag, it is also an important airline in South Africa. In South Africa Comair runs the brand with British Airways flights to Cape Town, Durban, PE & OR Tambo. International flights from Cape Town to London and from Johannesburg to London are operated by British Airways PLC.
