1time to take fashion to new heights

1time Airline are known as being innovators - a while back they pioneered in-flight banking in South Africa. Now, in partnership with Fashion TV and Distell ((and some distance from the fashion ramps of Paris and Milan), 1time airline is hosting South Africa's first fashion show in the sky.

On 1 November 2008 a charter flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town will be hosting models dressed in the South African spring collection of the Ed Hardy label by Christian Audigier. The models will strut their stuff down the plane's aisle, with celebrities on board including DJ Lady Lea, SABC presenter Liesel van der Westhuizen & Oscar Pretorius (a Paralympics star).

And 1time 's rationale for hosting this unusual fashion show: “We wanted to provide the fashion industry with a new and innovative platform for showcasing their creations, and expose passengers to the latest fashions, further highlighting that at 1time we really do mean ‘more nice’ in every sense. One time has never enjoyed being a follower and setting trends comes naturally to us, this is but one of many innovations we have created and by all means not the last. We want people to realise that an airline isn’t supposed to be rigid and unfashionable, we aim to bring glamour back to the skies of our country, one fashion show at a time!”

Tickets cost R3800 a seat and include a 5-star menu, a party at Fashion TV Café as well as a return flight from Cape Town to Johannesburg at 2am.
