The people of the Western Cape

More than four million people live in the Western Cape on 129 286km² of land. The mother-tongue of the majority of Western Capers is Afrikaans (the mother-tongue of the majority of the rest is English and isiXhosa - pronounced with a click!). Most Western Capers can speak more than one language, and the majority can converse in english (which is the language in which business is usually conducted).

The Western Cape has the highest adult education level in the country. The province has a strong network of higher educational institutions.
