Bus Fares versus Flight Prices This Week

Now that both coach operators and airlines are offering more routes, we thought it is high time we compared prices again! Airlines are now offering the Golden Triangle and flights to Port Elizabeth. Of course coach operators can't run at full capacity and the need for a permit has reduced demand, but prices are surprisingly competitve. In some instances there is only a slight price difference and in one extraordinary example the bus is almost R200 more expensive than the flight. We like saving you time and money, especially now that it means less time spent in an uncomfortable mask. Find pricing below and don't forget to take the necessary travel documents with you.

The average domestic flight lasts 2 hours in South Africa. Adding another 2-3 hours for boarding and disembarking, you only have to spend about 5 hours masked. Compared to bus journeys which are often overnight, a short flight certainly wins on comfort. The jury is still out on which mode of transport is safest in the age of coronavirus, but it is seems that both can be safe if all passengers wear masks (correctly) and practice good hygiene. Keep your hand sanitiser nearby!
