All You Need to Know About Fly Go-Air

Tired of all the new low cost airlines, excluding all the essentials like checked baggage and meals? Then you'll be glad to hear about Fly Go-Air, South Africa's latest domestic airline which does not sacrifice on comfort or style.

First off, you need to know that they will start off with flights between Johannesburg (OR Tambo) and Cape Town. This makes them the 7th airline operating on what is one of the busiest routes in the world! As they are just launching this week, any plans to expand their network will depend on the success of this first route.

If the name does sound familiar to you, it is probably because you've heard of them before. In 2012 they had a brief stint operating flights between Lanseria and Nelspruit. Sadly they only saw one flight take-off before they closed. Although we haven't heard their name since then they will once again be operated by Cemair who are also operating FlyCemair flights.

Fly GoAir Baggage Friendly...

Wondering what will set them apart from the 6 other airlines competing on the same route? We suspect Fly Go-Air will become the number one airline for business travellers. Not only will the airfare include 20 kilograms of checked baggage, irrespective of how many pieces, they will also save travellers time. The Bombardier CRJ jets they will make use of can move slightly quicker than their competitors' planes and as it only seats 50 travellers, boarding and disembarkation will also be speedier.

Travellers will also be able to take 7 kg of hand luggage on board. As ACSA rules apply, each passenger will only be able to take one piece and a slimline laptop bag or ladies handbag on board.

We've contacted Fly Go-Air and they said bookings will open on Thursday, the 21st of May 2015, with their first flight taking off on the 29th of June 2015. We can't wait to learn more about them!

"I am a Pastor / Missionary from South Africa and travel frequently from New York to South Africa and Zambia. Every time I travelled on SAA I experienced friendliness, care and attention from the flight attendants. My trips were always pleasant and I would recommend SAA to anyone wishing to travel long distance. SAA you have excelled in your service and have gone the extra mile to administer "Service with a Smile".
