SA Express Competition Winner

We've had a number of enquiries about who won the SA Express competition. Here she is! Congratulations to DeeDee Hunter from Cape Town on winning the 2 flight tickets which can be used on any available SA Express domestic South African route from 1 January 2014 to 30 June 2014. Cruise to Tristan da Cunha Island

There are certain cruises which are epic in nature, and are done more for adventure than for comfort, for the joy of the unvarnished experience - a cruise from Cape Town to Tristan da Cunha, the remotest island in the world, on the RMS St Helena falls into this category. The cruise typically leaves Cape Town and is at sea for 5 days before arriving at Tristan da Cunha where a couple of days are spent, then cruises to St Helena Island where a further few days are spent before another 5 days at sea to get to Cape Town. But was the 14th November 2013 RMS St Helena cruise to Tristan da Cunha its last voyage there? There are no more Tristan da Cunha cruises listed in its schedule, and with airport being built at St Helena Island, it's possible that the RMS (as she is affectionately known) will be retired without another trip to Tristan da Cunha. We were lucky enough that Tina Wagner, a passenger on board the RMS, shared the photos she took of Tristan. Here they are for your viewing pleasure.

The bottom line: Qatar Airways is introducing an online application system for its passengers wanting visas to visit Qatar.

You can now use SAA Voyager miles to reduce the cost of flights booked with Mango.

Fastjet have reported a 72% average load factor in the month of Nov 2013, which is slightly lower than their average since launch of 73% (they explain this is due to November being a traditionally weak month).

We carried out a snapshot survey of Johannesburg to Montreal flights, and Lufthansa was cheapest.

SAA & JetBlue have entered into a codeshare agreement, whereby JetBlue will be listing SAA flights from Washington & New York to Johannesburg, and onwards to PE, Cape Town, Durban and East London. At the same time as SAA are expanded their US codeshare agreements, Qatar Airways is doing the same. It announced that it was operating flights to Philadelphia from the 2nd April 2014, and on the same day is expanding its codeshare agreement with US Airways to include onward flights from Philadelphia into the US.
