Cruise news: As the last third of the year starts to wend its way to the end, those of us who want to stay ahead of the pack are most likely contemplating plans for next year and cobbling together ideas for holidays.

There are still a few cruises at less than R3,000 per person sharing, but these won't last long. Those people that can't get away on holiday in December or January, are snapping up the best cabins on these cruises. Don't forget that in addition to these great prices, kids don't pay the cabin charge when sharing a cabin with 2 adults.

KLM flight 592 from Johannesburg to Amsterdam had an engine shut down after a possible oil leak was noticed when the plane was just south of Rome.

Russia is planning on introducing visa-free travel for foreign nationals for 72 hours from its airports (it previously did the same for cruise lines, which resulted in "explosive growth").

South Africa Travel Online have long been proponents of removing visa requirements in particular (and freedom of movement in general), so we were delighted to see in other visa-related news closer to home that specialists from Kenya, Rwanda & Uganda met up on Friday to make a plan to move forward with a single tourist visa from 2014. My wife and I got married on 12 January 2013. Our dream honeymoon was to take a cruise ship from Durban, up th east coast of Africa.
