There is something that captures one's heart in the Mediterranean, but I am yet to put my finger on what it is exactly. I am not sure if it is the sultry looks - dark eyes, olive skin - of the people; the romance of the languages - Italian, French and Spanish to name a few; the thousands of years of history; or simply the sublime food that beckons to you from an astonishingly large array of eateries. Maybe it is just the thrill of being in a country so very different to our beloved South Africa. Whatever it is, I can't wait for the next opportunity to suck it all in!

We arrived at the Cape Castle and were shown a Studio Room. This hotel was perfect for our requirements. We could walk to the Waterfront, the City Centre and yet be at Camps Bay within minutes in the car. The room was airy and spacious with cooking facilities and a pleasant view. We wasted no time in making the most of our trip. We did all the usual things like Table Mountain, the wine route, Stellenbosch, Kirstenbosch. We never stopped. All in all it was the most wonderful unforgettable four days. Sue
