Fancy a holiday in Yemen? We thought so! From 1 Sep 2013 you can fly 1-stop from Johannesburg to Sana'a with Etihad, their latest route.

In a smart move, Qantas has partnered up with Emirates, and instead of its flights to Europe stopping in Asia or London, they'll now stop over in Dubai, and then move to Europe via Emirates flights. This offers passengers more variety and shorter travel times. However, we were shocked to read some of the comments left on their Facebook page following their decision not to serve pork on flights to Dubai - here's one of the milder comments - "I'll book with you again when PIGS fly! Change your name, nothing Aussie about ya!" (I think he's referring to QANTAS standing for Queensland And Northern Territory Air Services)."

From the 4th September, Emirates commences flights to Stockholm, meaning there are 1-stops from Joburg, Cape Town & Durban to Stockholm via Dubai.

Reminder - Virgin Atlantic and South African Airways expanded their codeshare a little while back, so you can now book flights with SAA from Johannesburg to Manchester, Edinburgh or Aberdeen.

Email us a write-up of your trip & we'll give you a travel voucher (write more & share pictures for bigger vouchers):
"The caves at Pinnacle Point reveal the genesis of modern thinking, and it provides a platform to unite people. This project needs our support, so I will liaise with the South African Heritage Resources Agency in order to secure more funding for this project, and to support the process of having the Pinnacle Point caves declared as a World Heritage Site." Dr Ivan Meyer, Western Cape Minister of Cultural Affairs. Here's a link to the excavation report of Pinnacle Point.
