Now is the time to plan ahead into 2013 and book your flight to London, as flight prices this low are rare.

The best Johannesburg to London flight prices are now with Etihad, with the cheapest return price we could find being R6372* (we place the asterisk there as flight prices change all the time, so it's entirely possible this is no longer available, navigate to Etihad South Africa to check if the price is still available). We found this price leaving JNB on a multitude of dates, but returning from London on the 24th February 2013. There were also quite a few flight dates going for R6488*.

Even in June 2013 there were some return flights going for R6455*.

Hopefully we'll be back to exploring London's magical streets soon! South Africa is currently on the UK's Red List, which means only British nationals are allowed to travel from South Africa to the UK and then they have to complete 10 days quarantine in a hotel. There are no direct flights connecting South Africa to the UK currently.

Air Namibia's strike has been resolved - the pilots have reached an agreement with the airline, whereby the Namibia Airline Pilots Association have accepted a 5% increase on total package.

From 1 December 2012 Federal Air Vilanculos flights will no longer be flown. "After ten years of operation, it has been a difficult decision to make, however with the global economic downturn, the airline has seen a continuing decline in passenger numbers – even over the busiest of seasons." said the airline.

Fly Go Air has its inaugural flight from Lanseria to the Kruger planned for the 10th December 2012.
