I know a lot of people in the Northern Cape who would like to make use of such a service. People staying in Alexander Bay and Port Nolloth or Springbok are far away from Pretoria and Johannesburg (2 days by car) and would love to come and visit friends and family, as well as students who’s parents are in one of the Northern Cape towns and would like to go home for holidays or long weekends. Even business men who have to come for a meeting or conference to Gauteng".

The Bottom Line: Africa's new low cost carrier, Fastjet, plans to start operations in October. Fastjet aren't initially going to be operating in South Africa, but it surely can only be a matter of time before they start flying here. The airline is owned by Rubicon Diversified Investments, which is listed in London, and has a licence agreement with Sir Stelios Haji-loannou, the founder of easyJet. Exciting stuff. They'll be starting in Ghana, Kenya, Angola & Tanzania.
