The Purple shall rule! "My wife and I were booked on a flight from Lanseria to Cape Town for the weekend of 20th April to 23rd April 2012. Unfortunatley I was taken to hospital during that week and was unable to fly at this time. I contacted Kulula on the 19th April and explained my position that I could not fly that weekend, so asked for assistance to re book to a later suitable date. Kulula then told me it will cost another R1700.00 on top of the original price. I requested that I would forward a Doctors letter explaining my condition. Kulula's comment was if you did not take out the insurance they were not prepared to assist, so pay up or lose the price of the tickets. A week or so later we notice in news media that Kulula is offering the Presidents 4th wife FREE passage on Kulula, this after being a Jetsetter and supporting Kulula for many years I find distasteful. I will in future be looking to use the opposition airline flying out of Lanseria. |

The Bottom Line: "In any one year China has thousands of its best brains outside the country attending business schools for periods of months or years. The idea is to secure cutting edge knowledge, bring its citizens back & put them to work running state-owned enterprises (SOEs)...It is not putting untrained public servants into managerial positions. It is applying meritocracy...this is, in part, why China has become wealthy...Our public enterprises minister, Malusi Gigaba, wants to emulate China & says he can kick-start an economic growth spurt using SEOs. But he is starting from the wrong base. Where are the business-trained brains?" David Gleason |
