Wellington Accommodation

Wellington is at the bottom of Bains Kloof Pass, and in the days of the Van der Stels, the area formed part of the Cape frontier, when it was known as Limiet Vallei - as a reminder of those times the mountain above Wellington is still called Limietberg. Here's some establishments you may want to stay at in Wellington.

The French Huguenots would later rename the area Val du Charron (Wagon Makers Valley), and the area would become known by its Afrikaans version, Wagenmakersvallei. If you have a taste for history, Wellington is home to one of the oldest farms in the area - Versailles.

Wellington Train Station

We're not sure how well it's abided by, but the land for the Wellington train station was given free of charge by a farmer, PJ Malan, who gave it on condition that all trains stopped at Wellington (reference When the Journey's Over by Lawrence G Green).
