History
The Mediterranean Shipping Company formally started life in 1970, when Gianlucci Aponte bought a ship called the Patricia. MSC Cruises was originally formed as Lauro Lines, when Gianlucci Aponte acquired Starlauro, a one-ship cruise line whose fleet consisted of the Achille Lauro.
Food
MSC Cruises seduces its guests with the taste and flavour of Italian cuisine, as well as offering sumptuous dishes of international flavours, to satisfy any palate. There are also a la carte options, with exotic foods such as sushi available, upon reserving a table. Best of all, guests will also get to savour dishes typical of the countries they visit.

This is made up of four ships all identical in their external appearance but all with their own individuality internally.
MSC Lirica
The MSC Lirica boasts a traditional but elegant feel making the passengers feel very comfortable throughout their cruise. The cosmopolitan atmostphere is reflected at two of the lounges onboard the ship: the Beverley Hills bar and the Lord Nelson pub. The MSC Musica came into service in 2006 and was the first ship to be added into the "Musica class" fleet. The ship boasts spacious staterooms as well as balcony suites, being the majority. The most specular site to be seen on the ship is the lit up three-tier waterfall and piano. They have been suspended over a crystal floor above a pool of luminous water, located in the

She was built in Saint-Nazaire from January 2009 until January 2010 and entered service in March 2010. The Magnifica was built to the Musica class design and is 293.8 metres long with a beam of 32.2 metres high. The ship weighs 93,330 gross tons and can reach a speed of 43 km per hour. She has 1259 cabins that can carry 3605 passengers at full capacity.

MSC Splendida
The MSC Splendida was built as a sister ship to the MSC Fantasia, and was modelled on her design. These ships were designed to be a perfect mix of innovation, technology, luxury and comfort. She entered service in March 2009 and embarked on her maiden voyage around the Mediterranean on the 4th July 2009.
She is a large ship, able to carry 3900 passengers and 1313 crew at full capacity. The ship weighs 133,500 gross tons and her length is 333.30 metres with a beam of 37.98 metres.
The builders of the Splendida, built her with the environment in mind. She has earned the title of "Eco Ship" due to the built-in systems that ensure she is energy-saving and protective of the environment.
The 2012 cruise season sees the MSC Splendida cruising around the Mediterranean, stopping at ports around Italy, Spain, Tunisia 
and Malta.

In May 2012, a divine new ship heads out into the ocean. The MSC Divina is the third of the Fantasia-class cruise ships and will be even more breathtaking than her predecessors, the MSC Fantasia and the MSC Splendida. In Southern Africa we have experienced the Musica-class cruise ships, the older MSC Melody (which have now left our waters), MSC Sinfonia and now also the newer MSC Opera.

MSC Yacht Club Suites
MSC Yacht Club is the ultimate in comfort and service, setting a new standard in luxury cruising. You can choose from 3 types of MSC Yacht Club suite Y1, Y2 and Y3 totalling 99 Suites spread throughout six decks, but mainly on decks 11,15 and 16.
Yacht Club Y1 - Y1 are the De Luxe Suites of the MSC Yacht Club with 88 cabins in total. Some of these have their own private balcony and others have stunning floor to ceiling windows offering fantastic views. They all have access to a private lift to the Spa area.
Yacht Club Y2 - Y2 are the Executive & Family Suites of the MSC Yacht Club with 9 cabins in total. Most of them have no balcony but instead have stunning floor to ceiling windows, offering unparalled views. These suites are ideal for families with children.
Yacht Club Y3 - Y3 are the Royal Suites with 2 cabins in total. The Royal Suites have the largest balconies of all the suites measuring 16 square metres.

The Butler Service
MSC Yacht Club means enjoying all the comfort and convenience of your own personal butler to cater for your every need. MSC Butlers are skilled and highly trained professionals who have been trained to the rigorous standards of the International Butler Academy.
Butlers are dedicated exclusively to MSC Yacht Club guests 24 hours a day and provide the following services:

Priority check in and check out with the Butler team on hand to assist you with luggage at the terminal, escort you to the dedicated line for priority check-in, and facilitate formalities during port calls.

The Butler will escort you to your suite, unpacking and packing suitcases if required.

The Butler will collect any laundry for washing, dry cleaning and ironing for the same or next day delivery as requested.

Towel changing twice a day.

The Butler will take personal care of your shoes on request.

Delivery of your favourite international newspaper in its original layout to your suite every day, even at sea.

Front row seats may be reserved at the theatre through the Butler or Concierge.

Gourmet Dining
Fine dining is an important feature of the MSC Yacht Club experience. In the Top Sail Lounge all day long, passengers will be offered a vast choice of exotic drinks, delicious pastries, homemade ice creams and mouth-watering appetizers.
If you prefer to enjoy the privacy of your suite, a round-the-clock dedicated room service menu is also available.
You are free to change the booking of your reserved seating time in the restaurants through the concierge.

Breakfast
Room Service: Continental breakfast served by butlers.
Top Sail Lounge: Continental breakfast and specialty coffees served by butlers.
The One Pool: daily selection of pastries, juices, fruit, yogurts and specialty coffees.
Dining Room: full hot breakfast to suit all tastes in the Le Muse on MSC Divina, L'toile on MSC Fantasia and L'Olivo on MSC Splendida.
Lunch
24 hour room service: MSC Yacht Club Selection menu served by butlers (a surcharge applies to the Delicatessen menu).
Top Sail Lounge and The One Pool: daily selection of delicious hot and cold appetizers, variety of salads and cheeses served by butlers.
Dining Room: A varied menu is served daily to suit all tastes in the Le Muse on MSC Divina, L'toile on MSC Fantasia and L'Olivo on MSC Splendida.
Tea Time
The butlers will present traditional English High Tea service each afternoon in the Top Sail Lounge. A fine selection of teas, cakes, pastries and sandwiches are served.
Dinner
MSC offer traditional fixed dining in the panoramic private restaurant as well as the main restaurants onboard. Please specify the times you would prefer when making the booking. MSC offer 19:00 and 20:45 and table size choices of 2, 4, 6 or 8.

MSC Aurea Spa
MSC have created a haven of calm where you can relax, be pampered and restore the harmony of mind and body. MSC Yacht Club guests have private lift access directly to the MSC Aurea SPA. The Butler will handle priority reservations for a wide range of exclusive treatments in VIP rooms available throughout the day.
