Imperial Car Rental down

The South African car rental market is pretty boring - as usual this week Avis is cheapest, and the only item of real interest is the fact that Imperial Car Rental's website wasn't working properly today (and Europcar too, since they share the same booking engine).

Imperial Europcar site down

This is not the first time that Imperial Car Rental's site has not been working properly (see 16 Aug 2008 survey). At least this time they've got a proper error message in place (on the previous occassion their site was not working they just didn't show the price).

You can take Jen out of Africa, but you cant take Africa out of Jen

With her husband born in South Africa, Jen (from Canada) holds onto and recounts the memories of a trip 3 years ago. She saw Kirstenbosch, Nelspruit's Lowveld National Botanical Garden, and before you think she's only into plants, she also stopped over at Londolozi Game Reserve in Sabi Sands. However, her eureka moment was hearing a group of small children spontaneously break out into singing Nkosi Sikelel iAfrika whilst on Table Mountain's cableway car. Jen, unlike many tourists you managed to connect with the people of South Africa and not just the tourist attractions. We at SouthAfrica.TO hope that you'll be visiting the country again.
