Kulula flights to East London commence with much fanfare, and at the same time the airline ran car hire specials from East London in tandem with Europcar, up to 10% off and free upgrades for certain car hire groups. |

In a first for this time of year, Imperial Car Rental (now called Europcar) at East London Airport runs out of rental cars (as a result of the ANC launching their election manifesto at the ABSA stadium on the 10th Jan 2009). Julius Malema, the ANC Youth League President, had to settle for a Honda Accord from First Car Rental (he was originally looking for a Mercedes-Benz). |
