Exchange control regulations permit the purchase of foreign currency up to 60 days before departure. When buying foreign exchange, you will need your passport and your ticket (e-tickets are accepted), if you are traveling by road you need to provide the car registration details of the car you will be using.  If you do not have a bank account at Standard Bank you will also need to provide your Identity book and proof of residence such as a utility bill not older than 3 months.
