SA Roadlink bus accident

An SA Roadlink bus crashed around 0330 on the morning of the 3rd June 2008, on the road near Paradise Valley in Durban just after the Marianhill Toll Plaza. At least fifty seven (including 13 children) of the 74 people on board were injured (but not the bus driver), of which one lady was critically injured. The KwaZulu-Natal Transport Department speculated that the crash may have been caused by the bus driver falling asleep.

I worked for SA Roadlink as a hostess and i know that those busses are just death on wheels. They normally dont have two drivers for long trips. The busses are completely unsafe and all staff are told to lie and put up a front. They really dont care about the people only money

Let me point out a few things that I have experienced with your buses. The bad service start at the ticket sale and goes on to a late bus then to a speeding bus and subjected to a faulty window with the television making a hell of a noise while we trying to catch a nap. Ticket sales: * those people serve us as if they are tired uninterested and not even with a smile. I asked once about the safeness of the bus and I got a "Don't catch it if you feel its not safe go to the next bus". * Late bus arrival for depature Several times have had bad luck with a late bus to Durban then experiencing a speeding bus especially the buses travelling at night. * Speeding bus The buses depart from Jhb nicely up until Wilge plaza after that all hell break loose. I was in a bus awake and it got hit by three Speed cameras. I bet the driver had to answer to his boss about how come on one trip. Improve please

I realy like this company a lot, and I use to use it when im travelling but this days it seems to give a big fear when i have to use it. the service of this busess must be very powerful, how can road link experiences so many eccidents every year? something is not right.

clearly the owners of this bus service have connections higher up. Why are they still operating with so many breakdowns. How do they get their roadworthy certificates? Just yesterday 7/4/2009 a bus from PE to JHB was stuck for 3 hours with my dear senior citizen, imagine the panic. Is someone listening?

My daughter has used this service before. She was really disappointed as the service she recieved was definitely not what was promised by the website. I complained and they offered a free ticket which I will not take up after seeing all the accidents they have been involved in. People must simply not make use of this service and the managemet must be held accountable for these accidents. Govt also needs to monitor the quality of these bus services. Clearly the RTA is not doing enough or is not capable of doing enough. We need to increase and improve these services as they are a critical part of providing effective transportation for our citizens and also tourist, especially with 2010 World Cup Soccer upon us.

Please get ride of this company they do not have good service what so ever. All they care about is making money not about poeple's life. December is coming all they want to do is making million that mission and objective of this company, they have only in the business for not even 10 yrs but how many families are left without friends, parent etc.

CHARLEIGH

When are they just goin to write of these peoples services, they are of no use to any but for killing our people. Its always either the driver sleeping or they damn speeding. They have killed so many people including my 2 family members in the big xmas eve accident 2years ago.I will NEVER EVA support them and ive told many others not to.They have bad customer services.I hate that company

I have used the bus services such as roadlink before. When you are faced with constant mechanical and electrical problems which make the trip unsafe (not to mention the speed they drive - 120) it makes you wander why they are still allowed to operate!

mpume

Roadlink management olways rush 4 money 4getting to service the buses and 4geting to hire more drivers. how can you expect some1 to drive to and from without some sleep.

These guys should be canned. How many people have to die before someone wakes up?? I have travelled with them before and even though the bus was showing problems from the time we left the station, the driver just kept going. We were then stuck in Swinburne for 3 hours till it was fixed. The drivers drive above 100km/h too! This is is just ridiculous that they are still allowed to operate!!
