About 90% of South Africa's travel agents are members of the Association of South African Travel Agents (Asata). Since 1 August 2006, members of Asata are obliged to advertise their full prices - including all taxes.
Take along music you really enjoy - upbeat happy songs, and listen to them during the flight (you wont be allowed to use electronic equipment during take-off and landing).
Chosing a seat near the emergency exit may allow you to feel more in control.
Flying on larger planes may make you feel better.

South Africa are strict and clinical with their passport and visa requirements. If you don't meet the requirements, you will be sent right back where you came from.
Make sure that you have your passport, with at least two blank pages in it (yes, many people have been sent back in tears because they didn't have two blank pages), this cannot include the 'endorsement' page at the back.
Passports must be valid for at least 30 days after the intended date of departure. Proof of financial means may be required. Unaccompanied children under the age of 18 years must hold written consent from their parents when travelling alone.
