SAA R490 DUR-JNB |
7 Aug 2009 flights |
These prices just keep coming down and for SAA I can only say WOW - and thank you for giving me something back for my tax expenditure - this is the first time ever in our surveys that they have offered the cheapest price from Durban to Johannesburg (which we've been running since 5 May 2007). SAA's R490 price for a one-way flight from Durban to Johannesburg is their cheapest since our 8 Sep 2007 flight survey, and BA British Airways' R753 is their cheapest since our 5 April 2008 survey. And for those who prefer being closer to the ground, catch a City to City coach bus for only R120 (cheapest since our 5 April 2008 survey), or catch the train for only R80 (Shosholoza Meyl economy class).

Thank you Jered Scott, for sharing your stunning photos of your visit to the Republic of South Africa. When not taking pretty pictures, Jered was doing some work in Gugulethu (Cape Town). Jered is not the first tourist to photograph these old cooling towers in Athlone thinking that they were nuclear bad boys - perhaps we should put a sign on them - "cooling towers for defunct Athlone Power Station".

"I remember one early morning flight from Glasgow to London where a lady passenger was so fearful that she had taken a couple of Valium, and then once on board she set about the drink. Twenty minutes from landing she had fallen sound asleep and when the aircraft landed in London she was still out for the count and had to be carried off the plane", extract from the book "Airline Confidential".
