Prices are for one-way flights from Cape Town to Joburg, leaving Cape Town between 1729 and 2031.

British Airways' price (R1463) is the most expensive since the 8 Dec 2007 survey of flight prices from Cape Town to Johannesburg (R1649). BA's R3276 price for a business class flight is an all-time record (high).
Kulula's cheapest price of R659 is for a flight from Cape Town to Lanseria Airport (Johannesburg). All other flight prices quoted above are for flights from Cape Town to Joburg's O.R. Tambo International Airport.
Interlink is once again offering the cheapest business class flight from Cape Town to Joburg (R1709 again).
Intercape have been in the news recently for writing a letter to the authorities arguing that SA Roadlink may not have a licence to operate legally (on some routes). It would be great if they could also keep their prices down - catching an Intercape bus from Cape Town to Joburg is more expensive than flying (Interlink, Kulula or Mango) in the above survey.
SA Roadlink prices have dropped (to R399) to the lowest level since the survey on the 16th Aug 2008 (we're not sure whether this has anything to do with their Hibberdene accident).
Flight price inflation has fallen to -41% on the Cape Town to Johannesburg flight route.
On Sunday the 14th December 2008, Neville Hulet flew 502km in his paraglider. If ratified by the FAI, this will be the new paragliding open distance world record. Flying alone, at 1132am he took off from near Copperton in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa and eventually landed just over the Lesotho border at 1911 (at the foot of the escarpment, where the orange river comes out of the mountains). (imagine the look on the border guards faces when he explained how he entered the country! About halfway through the flight Neville almost wiped his feet on the ground (at high speed), but fortuanately enjoyed his biggest climb just after that.
The previous record of 462km had been set in Brazil on the 14th Nov 2007.
