Valerie travelled from Rotterdam to Johannesburg via Cairo (5 hour wait), before flying from Johannesburg to Kimberley to see the vast nothingness of the Kalahari desert. She stayed at Postmasburg which is 1000kms from anywhere - Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban. Valerie visited the natural spring called "Die Oog" in Kuruman, Witsand, and saw the Wonderwerk caves south of Kuruman and their bushman paintings. With her descriptive portrayal of the Kalahari, she is a deserved winner of our blog of the week competition. Valerie, thank you for sharing your story and pictures with us. We hope you'll visit South Africa again soon.
