Interlink cheapest DUR to JNB |
17 Oct 2008 flights |
The good news is that Interlink Airway is cheapest from DUR to JNB, but today is one of those days that the bad news overshadows the good news - the real shocker is that British Airways came in with a price of R1565 for a one-way economy class trip from DUR to JNB - the highest we've ever surveyed on this route (previous highest was also by British Airways - R1112 on the 20th October 2007).

Interlink Airways flight ID022, scheduled to leave DUR at 1910, is R1 cheaper than Mango Airline's cheapest economy class seat.
For the first time in our surveys of Durban to Joburg flights, 1time airline is sold out (i.e. since our first survey of this route on 5 May 2007).
I'm not sure whether there's any price-fixing going on, but it is highly unusual for two airlines to offer exactly the same price (R2066) for business class seats. However, Interlink Airways are cheapest here too (R1298).
Cheapest overall from Durban to Joburg is SA Roadlink, with a trip costing R150.

...and blog of the week goes to Adam & Jen all the way from Vancouver, Canada. After 5 flights from Phnom Penh, Adam & Jen arrived in Cape Town, South Africa. They did the double decker bus tour around Cape Town (the Table Mountain cable car which was their number one priority was closed due to strong winds). They followed it up with all the big tourist attractions - Robben Island (the number 2 thing to do in the Mother City), Cape Point, the District 6 museum and finally the wind died down and they got to see Table Mountain (which made us wonder how many tourists miss going up Table MTN due to high wind during their visit...personally, I'd hike up Plattekloof Gorge rather than miss it because of wind).
