Farewell Nationwide |
30 May 2008 flights |
With the dust starting to settle around Nationwide's liquidation, the hard questions need to be asked - were Nationwide aware that they were insolvent at the same time as selling airline tickets? On happier news, Mango airlines are offering the cheapest flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town (flight JE169 scheduled to leave Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport at 1735 and arrive at Cape Town Airport at 1950):

Swede in Cape TownWahlen visted Cape Town, and not only went abseiling down Table Mountain but also went to Gansbaai to eyeball South Africa's Great Whites (and I'm not talking about the relics from the apartheid era!). He's got a good heart too, he visited District Six and handed out some boxes of clothing to the poor.
An SAA Airbus is parked at the international terminal of Cape Town International Airport. Note the crane above the Airbus and terminal, signifying the construction going on at Cape Town Airport. The photo was taken in January 2008.
"It's just politicians pandering to the latest fashion. Gordon Brown wants us all to believe that he spends his days mulching his compost with his children, David Cameron's gone Dutch with his windmills. Neither of them really means it. They know that changing a lightbulb isn't going to make any difference but a picture of them changing a lightbulb will be a nice, cosy image. But the point is you can't change the world by putting on a pair of dungarees or sandals. You need to look at the real culprits and begin negotiations with them." Michael O'Leary (the man who makes Ryanair flights happen) arguing that the real battle carbon emission had to be fought with the Russians, Indians and Chinese, as quoted in his biography: "A Life in Full Flight: The story of the man who made Ryanair take off".
