It's a crazy world we live in. Easter on the 23rd March (with the exception of the Greeks of course), Paris Hilton in Johannesburg, Good Friday on Human rights day and British Airways are offering cheaper flights than Mango Airlines. In fact, British Airways are offering cheaper flights than 1time, Kulula, Nationwide and SAA as well.

Not much change in prices since last time we surveyed Cape Town hotel prices. Notably, Sun International's "The Table Bay" at Cape Town's Waterfront dropped their prices for a room by more than R1000 - it's now only R4775 for a night at this illustrious hotel (and for that price you get a luxury twin room, a large walk-in shower and a bathroom With marble topped vanity). Hotel prices were checked for one person for the night of the 18th April 2008.

Ali Hassan visits Cape TownAli Hassan visited Cape Town and took a load of photographs to share with us. He visited museums, Cape Point ("one of the coolest things I've done in a long time"), the penguin colony at Simonstown and Kirstenbosch gardens. Ali says that in Cape Town "you always feel like you have to look over your shoulder".
We decided to do a little write up on the plastic which Nedbank is producing for SAA. Here's a write-up on the SAA Voyager credit card, whereby you can earn Voyager miles by spending rands.

"The Taoiseach has dithered for three years on providing a second terminal at Dublin airport. As a result, Dublin airport today is not just a slum; it is a testament to the failure of Bertie Ahern to keep his own election promises...Another terminal provided by the people who brought us the Black Hole of Calcutta is not competition, it's still the Black Hole of Calcutta. The government has been forced to open up telecos, electricity and other sectors to competition and airports shouldn't be any different. This is anti-competitive and anti-consumer. " Michael O'Leary's (the main konyn at Ryanair flights) reaction to the Irish government awarding the tender for a new terminal to the state-owned Dublin Airport Authority, as quoted in the his biography: "A Life in Full Flight: The story of the man who made Ryanair take off".
