Cheap flights survey |
20 October 2007 flights |
The last time we surveyed flights from Johannesburg to London was after a British Airways advert (and British Airways did indeed come in at the cheapest, the first time in all our surveys that an airline advertising a special came in cheapest). This week we received an email from Emirates, advertising a special fare from Johannesburg to London of R3200. Although the email advertised that the rate was until end July, on arrival at Emirates' site it specified that the rate was valid until end June (and considering this was the 30th June, it would have only worked for the most impulsive amongst us).

We examined one-way flights from Johannesburg to London leaving on the 20th October 2007; and Virgin Atlantic flight VS602, costing R4829, was the cheapest; the flight leaves Johannesburg at 2100 and arrives in London at 0655 the next morning. Well done Virgin Atlantic - the first time you've topped one of our surveys. However, we are dissapointed that flight prices have gone up since our last survey on the 3rd June 2007, when British Airways came in cheapest for flights from Johannesburg to London, with a ticket price of R4264.
No flight prices were listed for Nationwide, as their website was not working.
