For accommodation near O.R. Tambo International Airport, try the Sunrock Guesthouse in Kempton Park, which is relatively close and provides free transfers. There's a pool, and rooms are fairly large. Optional dinners usually include a braai. Due to noise from planes, select one of the quieter rooms at the back of the property.

Alternatively, try the D'Oreale Grande Hotel. Situated at Emperor's Palace, it's close to the airport. The rooms facing the highway have better views (thought I'd never say that!). Try the spa. Take a walk around the complex mall before dinner, to take in the various food court options.
