Before it was suspended, Zambezi Airlines was offering flights from and within Zambia, before it was suspended. Its planes are maintained at the airline's maintenance facilities in Lusaka, and by South African company, Jetworx (who are also responsible for certification).

2 Nov 2011	Iata has announces that it has suspended the airline ZJ with immediate effect, as they have ceased operations in accordance with the provisions in Iata’s Resolution 850 Attachement F.
1 Nov 2011	Zambezi Airlines places a notice on their website, saying "We regret that all flights have been suspended until further notice. Thank you for your support and we look forward to welcoming you onboard again."
29 Oct 2011	Zambezi Airlines' AOC Air Operating Certificate is suspended by the Zambian Government due to "serious safety concerns"
30 Jun 2011	Zambezi Airlines flies its inaugural flight from Livingstone to Cape Town. It will operate a three times a week direct service on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from Livingstone, Zambia, “Recently, Turkish Airlines and Emirates Airline increased their number of flights and Air France also announced its non-stop flight between Cape Town International and Paris, Charles de Gaulle with three flights a week. Now Zambezi Airlines will also be flying three times a week. This is all positive news for the airport and Cape Town and certainly a testament to what we have to offer as a region in tourism and business.” Said Cape Town International Airport's Communications Manager, Deidre Hendricks. “We are particularly proud that we are the first airline to launch the direct flight between the ever-popular destination of Cape Town and Zambia’s adventure capital, Livingstone, which is also home to the world-famous Victoria Falls.” said Sidney Siwabamundi, Zambezi Airlines Commercial Manager.
6 Apr 2011	Zambezi Airlines announces that it is commencing flights between Cape Town and Livingstone (Zambia) from the 30th June 2011; on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (using a Boeing 737-500 aircraft).
4 Jun 2010	Zambezi Airlines commences flights between Johannesburg & Harare (Zimbabwe).
12 May 2009	Zambezi Airlines operates its first flight from Lusaka to Johannesburg. The Zambezi Airline Boeing 737 left Lusaka at 1000 hours and landed at Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport at 1150 local time.
25 May 2009	Zambezi Airlines takes delivery of the first of two Boeing 737-500 aircraft - christened “Spirit of Kafue”, having entered into a lease agreement with GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS).
