SAA appoints news board

1 Oct 2009. Following the expiry of the term of office of the current board, a new SAA (South African Airways) board (effective 28 Sep 2009) has been announced by the Minister of Public Enterprises, Barbara Hogan. Cheryl Carolus has been appointed chairwoman. Non-executive directors appointed included Cyril Jantjies (human resources professional), Russell Loubser (chief executive JSE), Duduzile Miyeni (chief executive, Skills Dynamics), Bonang Mohale (country chairman and vice-president, Shell South Africa), Lindi Nkosi-Thomas (advocate of the High Court) and Margie Whitehouse (marketing professional).

"Carolus will head up a highly skilled board, with experience in areas such as tourism, business and finance, law and procurement. Other key skills include experience in human resources, as well as the airline and hospitality industries." said Hogan.
