Emissions trading scheme

Four major world airlines have backed an emissions trading scheme - British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Air France (including KLM) and Cathay Pacific. The scheme involves a global cap on aviation emissions, with a UN body being responsible for the auction of permits.
