Cheap holidays20 Jul 2008. With inflation, interest rates and fuel prices eating at our wallets we need to carefully choose our holidays. Research by the UK Post Office shows that the cheapest holidays are in Thailand, South Africa and Turkey (bring on that South African roadtrip and you don't even have to fly). The cheapest European destinations (other than Turkey) are Spain and Bulgaria.
