THE FLYING PART WAS EASY |

Flying 1Time is a one(ce upon a) time story. Everything is on time with good service, helpful staff and no glitches – at least that’s what I found when I flew to Cape Town to celebrate Women’s Day.
Getting to the airport was another story. In my wisdom I allowed my husband to be chauffeur and arrived at the airport almost a total wreck. Have you ever driven with anybody who drives in the middle lane of the highway at less than 60kph and swings into the fast lane without indicating and is totally oblivious to rude signs or any other method of indicating displeasure?
After much back seat driving and “friendly” advice we arrived at OR Tambo to be met by the delightful Babsi. Babsi (babsi@airportparkade.co.za telephone +27 1 973 2039 or cell +27 73 832 9506) provides a really useful parking service. She will meet you at departures and whisk your car away to a safe parking area where it is given a complete valet service She will meet you on your return to Johannesburg saving you a lot of time and hassle. You will even find a courtesy chocolate and a bottle of water left in the car. Her rates are very reasonable and she comes highly recommended. (See also www.airportparkade.co.za ).
When we went to book in my frazzled nerves were tested again when my husband advised that he had left his ID in the car. Unkind comments raced through my mind, but when Babsi pleasantly advised that it was no trouble to return, those comments were hastily deleted. The rest of the check-in was a breeze.
1Time are difficult to write about for the pure and simple reason that we found them efficient, friendly, and, hallelujah, on time. The only down side was that a credit card service is advertised, but no credit card machine was available on the aircraft (on both legs of the flight) - however the cabin crew took manual details from the card in order to process the purchases. There was a good variety of food on offer and was freshly made. The aircraft was comfortable and there was ample leg room even in the rows away from the emergency exits.
