The Cape Argus Cycle Tour ("the Argus") is a 114km cycle race through the Cape Peninsula, usually cycled annually in March. In 2005 35 000 cyclists entered the tour.
The Argus begins in Hertzog Boulevard, Cape Town's city, and takes you towards Simonstown, across the peninsula down to Scarborough, past Misty Cliffs, Noordhoek, up and down the breathtaking (but steep) Chapman's Peak, through Hout Bay, up Suikerbossie, past Llandudno, Camps Bay, Glenn Beach, Clifton 4, Clifton 3, Clifton 2, Clifton 1. The race ends on the Western Boulevard, Green Point.
The 2006 Cycle Tour is on the 12th March 2006.
For those travelling from Johannesburg to Cape Town for the tour, remember to book well in advance, as the the flights and rental vehicles for this weekend are quickly filled up.

Entrants must be 12 years or older on the day of the tour |
Seconding in the form of following vehicles or motorbikes is not allowed (unless written permission has been obtained in the case of tandems and unconventionals) |
No participant (other than those on racing tandems or racing unconventionals) may take food or drink from anyone other than another participant whilst on the move. If you need food or drink you must stop to receive it. |
You may not start earlier than your allocated group. |
You may not ride under someone else's number. |
