The Two Oceans Marathon is a 56km road race through the Cape Peninsula, run annually usually in April (the 2006 race is scheduled for April the 15th).
The marathon is often referred to as the most beautiful marathon in the world. It is run through the mountains with views of False Bay on the one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other side. The marathon begins in front of South African Breweries in Newlands, you head towards Fish Hoek and then cross the peninsula towards Noordhoek, pass Long Beach, up and down the breathtaking (but steep) Chapman's Peak, through Hout Bay, up Constantia Nek, past Kirstenbosch gardens and ends at the University of Cape Town.
