Area-wise, Gauteng is the smallest of South Africa's provinces. It is home to one of the best-preserved meteorite impact craters in the world. The highest point of Gauteng is in its Magaliesberg Range of mountains, on Gauteng's north-west border (a good area to go hot air ballooning).
