"I flew with Airlink from O.R. Tambo to Ndola Airport in Zambia. I started to expat for a company in Zambia and stayed in Chingola, a town situated in the Copper enriched area of Zambia. I worked every day except Sundays. I went to a different church every Sunday and had the experience of a lifetime in one of them. I discovered a humbleness and a passion for God amongst the Zambians and I am proud to say that I had the opportunity to share it with them. The busiest place in Chingola is a shop called Nono’s and they sell the best soft twirled ice cream I’ve ever tasted abroad. In October I flew back to South Africa to spend some time with my family. I returned to Zambia a week later making use of Airlink. Approaching our landing at Ndola Airport, we were informed by the Captain that his co-pilot, a lady pilot in training, would perform the landing. I studied the faces of a few passengers and quietly smiled to myself and wondered what went through their minds at that specific moment. She executed a perfect landing, the best I’ve ever experienced. There was no bump, only the rumbling of the wheels told us that the rear wheels were down on the tarmac and running. The same happened with the nose-wheel. The engines went into reverse thrust and as the plane slowed and taxied down the runway there was some whistling and shouting and a lot of clapping going on. I spend another two and a half weeks finishing the project before I returned to O.R. Tambo making use of Airlink once again. I have a non-malignant growth in my back near my shoulder blade which causes me a lot of discomfort depending on the way I sit. I flew economy class and fifteen minutes into our flight I started to experience a lot of discomfort. The stewardess, a lovely lady with a lovely personality, noticed it and came up to me, asking what is wrong. I explained my situation to her. She went to the front of the aircraft and returned a few minutes later, asking me to gather my belongings and to follow her. To my amazement I was given a Business Class seat in the very front row next to the window. The softer seat and ample leg space ensured that I spent the remainder of my flight in utter comfort and luxury." Burger

A reader wrote the following response to some of the information in yesterday's Mango Airlines special newsletter: "Your indication map of the countries where the risk of terrorism and political violence is high is not true for the Senegal, we are not a violent country, we are democratic, and BARACK OBAMA is visiting Senegal also and you didn’t indicate, as you did with the South Africa." (Ed: We do report mainly from a South African perspective, which is why we only mentioned the South African part of Barrack Obama's Africa tour. Note that the map was not set up by us, but by Aon).
