Cruise news: Balcony cabins are selling out very fast on the new season (2013/2014) cruises. There are no more balcony cabins left on OP48, the 28 April 2014 MSC Opera cruise from Cape Town to Southampton.

How to enter
There are a number of ways to get yourself into this awesome competition. To enter, all you need to do is either:

book and pay for a cruise* via MSC Sinfonia or MSC Opera, or email us on cruises@southafrica.to for your International cruises;

book and pay for your car hire* with us and you will be eligible to enter the competition. For each additional car hire, flight or cabin booked, you will get another entry into the competition. (If you are booking a cruise, this competition is to win a second cruise for free.)
*Once you have made your flight booking or car hire, send us a screenshot, from the email address used in the booking, to competitions@southafrica.to. For those of you with cruise bookings, send your booking number and proof of payment to competitions@southafrica.to. Terms and conditions apply - see below.
The Prize
And what exactly am I winning, I hear you ask. The MSC Sinfonia is a firm favourite amongst us South Africans and we have secured an inside cabin for 2 adults on this glorious ship, on a cruise to nowhere from Durban. (Departing 30 January 2014 returning 1 February 2014.) We have covered the cabin fare, port charges, service charges and insurance. This covers all your meals, accommodation and limited drinks on the ship (tea, coffee and water). It also includes:
* 3 meals per day (vegetarian choices are served at each meal time and halaal meat is available on board)
* Midnight snacks
* Morning and afternoon teas, coffees, and pastries
* Floorshows and cabaret every night
* Live bands in 3 venues plus nightly party in the Club - dance the night away!

3. Flights and travel costs to and from Durban are not included.

5. All on-board expenses are for the winners account and will not be covered by South Africa Travel Online.
6. Any bookings cancelled will remove participants' eligibility for the competition.
7. The cabin can be upgraded to accommodate 3 or 4 people or to a higher category, at the cost of the winner. South Africa Travel Online will not pay for this upgrade.

Good news for those wanting to travel to Portugal. TAP Portugal is increasing its Maputo-Lisbon flights to 4 a week from April 2013, for the northern hemisphere summer, and then to 5 a week in peak summer from June to September. This opens up more possibilities for 1-stop flights from Johannesburg to Lisbon, via Maputo.

Ever wonder what happened to the old SA Air Force Mirage F1s? They are now the tiny Congolese Air Force's only planes capable of combat. The Congolese Air Force also recently purchased 2 CN235 transport planes from the Botswana Defence Force (they were in storage at Lanseria Airport).
