HOT AIR BALLOONING

It's been a while since we last had a 1time sale - they're keeping one warm for you in their "Red Hot Seat Sale". Remember to compare flight prices.

Cruise news: As the MSC Opera left Argentine waters there was a medical emergency. Luckily a Uruguay helicopter evacuated the casualty to a Montevideo hospital.

1time Red Hot Seat Sale

There were 30,000 seats available at the start of the sale. Booking from 4th to the 6th June (but I'm pretty sure it will be sold out some time before then). Prices subject to change:

  • Johannesburg - Durban 1-way R469

  • All other domestic routes R669 1-way

Domestic travel only, and it excludes group bookings, special events, peak periods, long weekends and school holiday travel.

Book at 1time. Remember that all 1timers qualify for Avis car rental from R164/day* (T&Cs).

The Purple shall rule! "Very interesting article on the standards of ACSA and airlines in general. It is strange how rules are disregarded in certain instances while in other more costly instances they are just not prepared to. Just before the Easter weekend we arrived at Lanseria airport 25-30 min before the flight departs and at this stage they had already closed check in. Technically we did not miss the flight as it only closed 5 min before we arrived and yet the staff including management was not prepared to let my Mom board. This was an 20h00 flight and apparently no flight later that evening and the next flight was in the morning at 06h00 at an additional cost of R2000+. They did not offer a flight from ORT, nothing, all they said was "sorry you missed your flight" which technically was not correct. While we admit to being late only 5min in this instance, my concern was the fact that it is OK for airlines to run late and postpone flights and the patrons just have to accept this but in the reverse they simply throw their hands up in the air and quote procedures. I took this up with Comair as it was a Kulula flight and their response was simply sorry procedures are procedures. On the flip side I lost the total cost of that seat which in my opinion was due to plain lazyness as no–one wanted to go the extra mile as the plane was not even in take off mode yet - they only closed check in!" The Bottom Line: It's remarkable how quickly things can turn round with the right leadership. Malawi's new President (Joyce Banda) is lifting her predecessor's ban on homosexuality, is selling off his fleet of Mercedez limousines as well as the presidential jet, and flying to London with British Airways.
