Did you know that the student special is usually the cheapest way to cruise? The trick is that the special only applies to 4 bona fide students, aged 18-35, sharing one cabin.

Student Cruise Specials
We have found the student cruise special to be cheaper than the alternative of buy 2 get 2. The inside category 3 cabin is charged at R750 per person per night and the outside category 7 (Sinfonia) and 8 (Opera) cabins are charged at R850 per person per night. This price excludes the port fees, service fees as well as mandatory insurance. Please note the student cruise special does not apply to Peak season cruises (Christmas & New Year) as well as the South & North-bound cruises. If you make a booking using this special, you would need to pay IN FULL 75 days prior to departure. Make sure you secure your cabin with this special for the MSC Sinfonia or the MSC Opera.

Good news for those plying the Johannesburg to Zurich route on SWISS Airlines. An arrivals lounge has been opened for SWISS status & SWISS bussiness & first class passengers at Arrivals 2 at Zurich Airport, from 05h45 to 13h00. The Purple shall rule! "In Jan'12 I booked & paid for tickets to the UK in August'12 @ Flight Centre-Plattekloof, CPT, in order to safe guard my present ticket from further fuel increases but in March'12, due to unforseen circumstances, I was informed that my son is returning to South Africa in April'12 due to intermittent work only, although he has a 5 yr working visa. So I went to see Flight Centre to explain my predicament as my wife and myself can not afford the accommodation without my son living there. I was told that although I am cancelling the tickets 5 months plus in advance, I would be penalized R6,000 for the two tickets & that I could not transfer or sell the tickets. I was totally shocked. I went to see Emirates in the city who told me that half of the penalties is theirs and the other half is Flight Centre's, but although I signed the terms & conditions @ Flight Centre, I should have verbally been informed of the conditions, which was not done. On reporting back to Flight Centre that I expect penalties but not that huge amount, I was not informed verbally on signing plus the fact that I could not transfer or sell the tickets, Flight Centre Manager Melanie did not want to know my troubles as the terms and conditions were signed. Now I have signed the refund forms under duress, and I got another shock, that the minimum refund period is 12 weeks up to a maximum of 2 yrs. This is absolutely highway robbery plus the ticket will re-sold." Jackie
