George residents have long suffered from high flight prices, and the fact that there are no George to Lanseria flights. BA flying the route will help ease the pain.

BA Lanseria - George flights
BA Comair is introducing daily flights between Johannesburg's Lanseria Airport and George (in the Western Cape) from 1 December 2011 to 18 January 2012. Book at British Airways.
Flights to George are notoriously expensive, and by their standards there were quite good prices when I had a look - from R872 for the outbound HLA-GRJ flight, and R1022 for the return leg (can change, maybe even by now).
Speeding in George
Johannesburg drivers unfamiliar with George would do well to stick to the speed limit when driving (whilst keeping an eye out for joggers!). George's traffic officials have a ferocious reputation for enforcing the speed limit.

The growth of Lanseria Airport
It's phenomenal to see how fast Johannesburg's Lanseria Airport is growing. Especially interesting is that British Airways chooses Lanseria to fly from rather than O.R. Tambo (there are no BA JNB - GRJ flights). If only Cape Town and Durban had alternative airports.

The Bottom Line: According to a research report by the University of Pretoria, Eskom's R142bn Kusile power station will, once operational, cost South Africans an additional R60bn per year, as a result largely of the external water impact (e.g. the water pollution costs are not included in the price of electricity). If consumers were made to pay for the true cost of this electricity generation it would add between 237% and 459% to the 2010 tariff. "It would be possible to develop no less than 500% of Kusile's proposed power generation capacity, assuming that renewable electricity generation capacity was funded from only 30% of Kusile's external costs." Renewable energy would also employ more people, of whom there'd be proportionally more low-skilled workers.
