Riverine areas are located along major and tributary rivers, and are therefore usually more lush. They feature thick woods filled with shady vines & large trees. The rivers and plentiful vegetation lure animals year-round, but particularly so during times of drought.
In the Kruger National Park's riverine areas you commonly find baboon, bushbuck, duiker, giraffe, hippo, impala, kudu, leopard, nyala, vervet monkey & waterbuck.
