AWeber Communications

In May 2007 we set up a free weekly travel newsletter which we emailed to our readers (if you'd like to subscribe, type in your email address near the top-left of this page). At first we sent out the emails using Outlook, but our distribution list soon grew beyond Outlook's capabilities. We then wrote some php scripts which we used to email our newsletters out. But our email list grew and and this too ran into size limitations (imposed by our server host, Godaddy).

Our choice was therefore to move our hosting to servers with less restrictions, or to outsource the distribution of our newsletters to a third party. We'd been very happy with Godaddy, so we started looking for a partner to distribute our newsletter for us. After a detailed investigation of the options, we chose AWeber Communications. At first we didn't like the cost (we come from the school of do things yourself for free), but once we had seen the weight of recommendations from others and compared to the pricing options that others were putting forward, we realised that they were reasonable.

In the short while we have been using AWweber Communications we have been very impressed with what they offer, and we can strongly recommend them to anybody wanting to step up a level in terms of email distribution.
