South Africa's clothing industry historically only supplied the domestic market, and developed under isolation (to this day clothing exports are minimal). Clothing manufacture is concentrated in the Western Cape, Kwazulu-Natal and Gauteng. High value fabrics (e.g. wool) tend to be used predominantly in the Western Cape.
