FNB, or First National Bank, is one of the big four banks in South Afirca, together with Absa, Nedbank and Standard Bank.
Like Nedbank, FNB usually updates its bank charges in July (Absa and Standard Bank usually update their bank charges in January).

At the conclusion of the Anglo-Boer War, the Nationale Bank der Zuid-Afrikaansche Republic Beperk changes its name to the National Bank of South Africa Limited. |

The government of the Republic of the Transvaal establishes the Nationale Bank der Zuid-Afrikaansche Republic Beperk, and its doors open on the 5th of April 1891. |

The Bank of Africa is established, and it takes over the Oriental Bank Corporation's business in South Africa. |
